Saudi women burnish cleaning profession
Saudi women no longer consider cleaning work as a job beneath them, according to many in the profession. A large number of young women are cleaners at several schools, colleges and other institutions in the southern Asir province.
They have become role models for Saudi women job seekers who can potentially take advantage of the vast job opportunities available in this field.
Apart from supporting their families, these women are instrumental in elevating the status of a cleaner to a dignified profession, as well as confronting the deep-rooted stigma prevailing in Saudi society toward this type of work.

Bom este sempre foi um assunto complicado para que a sociedade saudita lidasse com o mesmo, dado que ha(via) a percepção que a mulher saudita não podia ser empregada doméstica pq lhe era desprestigiante.
Contudo, julgo que as mudanças que estão a ocorrer um pouco por todo o mundo árabe, no geral, e, em especial, na Arábia Saudita, mais por parte das mulheres, que, por exemplo, têm reivendicado o direito a conduzir, irão proporcionar uma maior abertura às mulheres por forma a que sejam mais participativas na sociedade. Aliás, esta participação tem um grande apoio por parte do Rei saudita.
